Result-driven experience

The first 4 weeks will be focused on intensely learning the mindsets and processes (The SkyRocket Framework) that we will be implementing.  This will be coupled with group support sessions as you take the first implementation steps.
The following 9 weeks will be more in execution mode with weekly accountability and support sessions as well as masterclasses to learn from startups who have successfully partnered big organizations

Week Activities
Week 1

Intro The Mindset & Process + Choose Your Partner

In two 90 minute sessions, we will introduce participants to the SkyRocket Framework for strategic partnerships and through a process for selecting companies to partner with.

GOAL: 3-5 potential partner organisations selected and rapidly researched

Week 2

Craft Your Offer + Frame Your Comms

In two 90 minute sessions, we will craft a compelling partnership offer for the selected partners using our Partnership Canvas and frame the offers in concept notes and elevator pitches

GOAL: Clear offer for the 3-5 partner organisations framed in a very compelling concept note & elevator pitch

Week 3

Connecting with Allies+ Pilot Design

In two 90 minute sessions, we will share insights on how to manage your initial interactions and how to design a pilot as a quick entry point for the partnership

GOAL: Contact has been made with the key person in all potential partner organisations

Week 4

Negotiating WIN WIN + Group Support

In the first of two 90 minute sessions, we will share a framework for managing negotiations for a quick close that everyone is happy with. The second session will be a group coaching session for peer interventions on any implementation challenges. We will also do some group coaching

GOAL: Clarity on how to navigate the inevitable negotiation phase smartly

Week 5

Quick Close + Group Support 

In this 120 minute session, we will share insights on how to close negotiations quickly with a good deal. We will also do some group coaching

GOAL: Ventures have insights on key things to do to prevent the negotiations from dragging out

Week 6

Guest Masterclass + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will get insights from a guest from the startup or corporate world about strategic partnerships they have been part of. We will also do some group coaching

GOAL: Ventures gain real insights from a practitioner’s perspective & answers to their critical questions

Week 7

Measuring Success + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will share insights on how to decide on metrics for the pilot and how to use this as a basis to expand the partnership. We will also do some group coaching

GOAL: Ventures know how to choose the right metrics that are achievable and that will give the partner impetus to expand the relationship

Week 8

Guest Masterclass + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will get insights from a guest from the startup or corporate world about strategic partnerships they have been part of. We will also do some group coaching.

GOAL: Ventures gain real insights from a practitioner’s perspective & answers to their critical questions

Week 9

Co-Create the Future + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will share insights on how to get involved in strategic direction setting with your partner. We will also do some group coaching.

GOAL: Ventures know how to make themselves invaluable allies of the partner organisation and a part of the strategic planning process

Week 10

Guest Masterclass + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will get insights from a guest from the startup or corporate world about strategic partnerships they have been part of. We will also do some group coaching

GOAL: Ventures gain real insights from a practitioner’s perspective & answers to their critical questions

Compound Value + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will share insights on how to expand the partnership by identifying and proposing value to other parts of the partner organisation. We will also do some group coaching

GOAL: Ventures have clarity on key steps to expand the partnership beyond the pilot

Week 12

Guest Masterclass + Group Support

In this 120 minute session, we will get insights from a guest from the startup or corporate world about strategic partnerships they have been part of as well as group coaching.

GOAL: All ventures have closed at least 1 partnership deal

Closing Out + What Next?

In this 120 minute session, we will recap key lessons from the sprint and make concrete plans for how to expand our partnership pool as part of our organisation’s growth strategy

GOAL: All ventures have a clear strategic partnership plan and cadence beyond the sprint

Meet the Lead Coach

Femi Longe will lead the Strategic Partnership Accelerator 1.0. He is the CEO & Principal Partnership Coach at The Partnership Lab.

As co-founder and Director of Innovation at Co-Creation Hub, Africa’s leading technology innovation centre, Femi worked with startups to drive innovation in a range of sectors including governance & civic engagement, financial inclusion, health, education & digital security. He also facilitated numerous corporate innovation engagement connecting top global brands to startups in the African ecosystem. Some brand’s he worked with include Facebook, VISA, British Council, Google, OSIWA, Union Bank, Oxfam, Lafarge, BBC, UK Department for International Development and the World Bank.

Femi was Accelerator Director for several early-stage startup accelerators including Winsiders4Good (Microsoft), FB Start(Facebook), Growth Academy (Intel), Make-IT Accelerator (GIZ) & Next Economy (Enviu) amongst others. In this role, he trained, coached and supported 170+ early stage startups to grow and scale through strategic partnerships and other strategies.

An obsession to level the playing field in corporate-startup partnership led him to develop the SkyRocket Partnership Framework which helps reduce the time to close partnerships by as much as 60%. He has been involved in closing several multi-million dollar strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies.

The aim of this programme is to help your business close relationships that would help your growth. This is a service that requires significant investment of time and expertise from the organisations which should be paid for.

Consider the programme fee as the investment you are making in expectation of returns in form of growth and revenue through the partnerships you close.
